Last week, Saya ducked over for a quick (well, long travel, short stay) trip to Inner Mongolia for the Qiansen Trophy BMX event.
The event, hosted for the first time in 2018, attracted a solid group of Elite riders globally, with a lucrative prize money payout starting at $8,000 USD for 1st position on each day.

Due to wet weather on the Saturday, all racing was rescheduled to Sunday, essentially running two full race programs in one day. It was a tough day physically for all riders, but Saya came away with a solid run, finishing 2nd in both events.

"I had a pretty big lead in the second Final, but Simone Christensen was just carrying more speed than me around the track and passed me on the line" Saya explained. "It was an exhausting weekend but I had a whole heap of fun. I'm really appreciative of the organisers for putting on a great pro event like this".

Saya will now join me as we knuckle down on our preparations towards the final four World Cups coming up in September.
